Only have a few hours in New Orleans? Here's a list of what to do in the Big Easy including world-famous Cafe du Monde and around St. Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square.

The famous French Quarter is a must when in New Orleans. You will see different types of art, from street performances to paintings that you can purchase.

The French Quarter began as French territory in 1718, but then was taken over by the Spanish until the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.

St. Louis Cathedral stands as a testimony to New Orleans' resiliency. The original structure was erected in 1718. Today's church is the third church in the spot.

There are several voodoo shops in the city.  I went into Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo on Bourbon Street.  The shop contains religious artifacts and souvenirs from around the world.

No trip to New Orleans and the French Quarter would be complete without a stop at Cafe Du Monde. Their beignets are the quintessential New Orleans treat.
