Decatur, Alabama is the site of the annual River Clay Fine Arts Festival which normally takes place on the fourth weekend of each September on the campus of Decatur’s City Hall. Over 70 talented artists from 9 states exhibit their art and wares, much of it available for sale.
In 2021, the event was postponed due to the pandemic and was held in mid-October.
The River Clay Fine Arts Festival
There is something for just about everyone at the River Clay Fine Arts Festival. There are artist demonstrations, student art exhibits, children’s make-and-take art activities, ironwork, musical performances, and food trucks. And for those who aren’t feeling particularly “artsy,” there are plenty of beautiful creations to simply admire.
Below are some pictures from the 2017 and 2021 River Clay Fine Arts Festivals:
While not technically art, these food trucks offered culinary creations to help satisfy hungry patrons at the festival.
Diners can walk, eat, and shop or opt to dine underneath the trees.
Admission to the River Clay Arts Festival is only $5 per person.
