Indulge your spirit of adventure in a luxuriously beautiful setting at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. This award-winning golf resort is nestled in the rolling hills of Alabama's breathtaking landscape. Spend your days challenging yourself at the golf course or enjoy indulgent spa treatments to rejuvenate. With its unique combination of modern amenities and southern hospitality, the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa provides an unforgettable experience for any traveler.

The word renaissance refers to rebirth or revival and most often refers to art, literature, and architecture. It seems appropriate, then, that Marriott Hotels' trendy and upscale properties have the word renaissance in their names.
I was a guest at Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa and had the opportunity to explore the facility. Located in a quiet residential golf community just minutes away from Birmingham, Alabama's best shopping centers and restaurants, it is full of European charm and Southern hospitality.

The walls of the corridors on the main floor are covered in rich wood paneling.
Dining
There are three places to grab a bite to eat at the resort: JT's Lounge, a cozy bar environment with plenty of screens to watch the big game, both inside and out; Brock's, the resort's signature restaurant which offers fresh, locally grown fare, as well as small plates; and the Clubhouse Restaurant which serves salad, burgers, and other classic American fare.
Championship Golf
Naturally, the main draw of the resort is the championship golf. The premier Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course was beautifully designed along the 330 acres of rolling green hills that are meticulously landscaped. Along the course are a 1,000-yard cascading waterfall and two scenic lakes.
The course plays from 4,800 yards to 8,191 yards and was designed specifically for PGA tournament play. It's perfect for the casual golfer to tournament players alike.
Fitness Center
There are two workout areas on the lower level of the resort - one with cardiovascular equipment and one with free weights. The resort also has two saltwater swimming pools, one outside with a small waterslide and one inside.
The Spa
The full-service spa occupies 12,000 square feet on the lower level of the resort and offers everything from body wraps to waxing. The spa also carries high-end personal products such as Skin Authority and Babor available for purchase.
Guest Rooms
There are 259 guest rooms at the resorts and 11 suites at the AAA 4 Diamond rated property. The rooms come equipped with standard amenities such as an in-room safe and a coffee maker. Wifi is available for an additional fee.
The bathrooms are equipped with a separate bath and shower stall, granite counters, and are stocked with Aveda bath products.
What's really great about the rooms is the view of the golf course. Some rooms also have a view of the outdoor pool and patio area.
One unique feature about this resort is that a bagpiper plays every evening at sunset. Activities are also offered such as story readings and cookie decorating for kids. For adults, Cocktails and Crooners (sounds of local artists) takes place nightly from 8 until 11 pm. Other activities for adults include Wine Wednesday and Castle Beverage Cocktail Tasting.
