Are you a first-time parasailer looking to get the most out of your experience in Key West, Florida? Look no further! Parasailing in Key West is an unforgettable experience that will leave you with amazing memories. From the breathtaking views to the thrilling sensations, there’s something for everyone when it comes to parasailing in Key West.

The first step is to find the right tour provider. One of the most popular parasailing companies is Sebago Watersports, which offers a wide variety of options for both solo riders and tandem. Once you’ve chosen your tour provider, make sure to book early so that you can select the best time slot for your experience.

Once on board the boat, you’ll be treated to a safety briefing and learn about all of the necessary steps for a safe takeoff. The captain will then help you gear up with your parachute as you make your way up into the sky!

Once in flight, enjoy the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Key West’s unique landscape. Keep an eye out for dolphins and other sea life. We saw a couple of turtles as well as a spotted eagle ray jumping out of the water while we were in flight.

Parasailing Tips

Before taking off, make sure to listen carefully to the instructions provided by your guide. They will give you important information on how to properly use your equipment, what to expect during the flight, and any safety precautions to be aware of.

Dress appropriately for the occasion. Wear comfortable clothing that won't restrict your movement or fall off during the flight. You may also want to bring along sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.

Communicate with your guide throughout the flight if you feel uncomfortable or have any questions. Let them know if you want to take a dip in the water or if you prefer to stay dry. (We had a dry takeoff as well as a dry landing.)

DON'T bring any loose objects or valuables with you on the flight.

At the end of your trip, don't forget to tip the crew. Twenty percent is customary.

By following these dos and don'ts, you'll be able to fully enjoy the experience of parasailing without any worries. Up next, we'll discuss what to expect while soaring over Key West.

Soaring Over Key West: What to Expect

Once you're securely strapped into your parasail, it's time to soar over Key West and take in the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Don't be surprised if you feel a sense of calm and peace as you float through the air - parasailing can be a truly meditative experience. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings and the exhilaration of the moment. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of some of Key West's famous marine life, such as dolphins or sea turtles.

As your parasail adventure comes to an end, your guide will slowly bring you back down to the boat.

Sebago Watersports

We booked our first parasailing adventure through Sebago Watersports and were not disappointed. The parasail crew was professional and friendly and made the trip extremely enjoyable.

Before the trip, we signed a waiver, which is standard. We arrived 30 minutes early to check in at their office at 205 Elizabeth Street at the Historic Key West Seaport. After that, we made our way to the departure point and boarded the boat.

We put on our life jackets and received a safety briefing before our takeoff. They checked all of our safety harnesses and then got the parasail chute ready for takeoff.

The views from up in the air were spectacular and we felt completely safe throughout the entire experience.

We opted to purchase digital photos of our experience, which were great for sharing with family and friends. They also offer a variety of other services such as jet skiing, paddle-boarding, and snorkeling tours.

If you're looking for a safe and unforgettable parasailing adventure in Key West, we highly recommend Sebago Watersports - you won't regret it!

After the flight, make sure to check out some of Key West’s many attractions such as Mallory Square or the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. Parasailing in Key West is an experience unlike any other, so don’t miss it!
