Hampton Inn and Suites in Panama City Beach

Last Updated: Mar 9, 2023 · 4 Comments

Hampton Inn and Suites in Panama City Beach, Florida is an affordable beachfront hotel that offers stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico. The hotel provides easy access to the white sand beaches and emerald green waters that make this area so popular.

The Hampton Inn and Suites in Panama City Beach is located on Front Beach Road, one of the main corridors that run through PCB, not only making it easy to get to but also a great starting point for exploring the area.

Hotel Parking

Parking for the hotel is located across the street in a 3-level parking deck reserved for hotel guests.  (There is a $15 per night fee for parking.) A temperature-controlled walkway (sky bridge) links the parking deck to the second floor of the hotel.

When in the crosswalk, guests have a great view of Front Beach Road which runs parallel with the beach.

Upon arrival at the hotel, large windows frame the beautiful oceanfront view of the Gulf of Mexico.

Guests can take either the elevators or stairs down to the main floor.  The stairwell is decorated with art that reflects the ocean theme.

Guests check-in on the main level.  Across from the front desk is a welcoming seating area.

In the main part of the hotel is the business center with two computers for guests to use.

The dining area is bright and airy and also has fantastic views of the beach and ocean.

Social Distancing

During the pandemic, for the safety of guests, the hotel is encouraging guests to wear masks and practice physical distancing.  Plexiglass has been installed at the front desk to provide an added layer of protection.

Because of COVID-19, the breakfast area has been transformed into a buffet line, more-or-less, helping to minimize the potential spread of the virus.  There are markers on the ground to help guide guests in keeping 6 feet apart.

Complimentary Breakfast

The Hampton Inn and Suites provides its guests with complimentary hot breakfasts.  Some items that might be available when guests are there include omelets, sausage, roasted potatoes, muffins, cereal bars, fruit, yogurt, and juice.

Digital Key

Guests who are Hilton Honors members can use the Hilton app to check-in, check-out, explore the area (digitally), and to access their room.  (I highly recommend this.  You are more apt to lose your room key than your phone.)

The bathrooms at the hotel are spacious and have deep bathtubs, plenty of towels, and hair dryers.

The hotel stocks Neutrogena brand bath products.  If guests arrive and have forgotten their toothbrushes or other toiletries, there is no need to worry.  The hotel has their back.

There are 182 non-smoking rooms at the Panama City Beach property which opened in 2017.  Room choices include two queen beds or a king bed and either a gulf view or inland view.

Rooms come equipped with standard amenities such as a flat-screened television, mini-fridge, coffee maker, free wifi, alarm clock, and iron and ironing board.  One thing to note is that there are no in-room safes.

The gulf view rooms have small, but adequate balconies furnished with two chairs and a side table.  Looking to the west, guests can see the pier from the hotel.

Looking down, guests can see the hotel's pool and dune walkover to the beach,

The balconies are an ideal spot for starting the day in paradise.  While there, my husband and I spotted dolphins swimming and fish feeding.  (The latter necessitated a trip to the store to purchase a fishing license, rod and reel, and fishing lures.)

On a side note, the Hampton Inn and Suites serves coffee in these cute coffee cups which have different mouths, mustaches, etc. which is great for identifying whose coffee is whose.  Starting the morning on the balcony with a cup of coffee is a great way to start the day at the beach.

Amenities

The hotel has both an outdoor pool and a hot tub located on the main level.  Towels for guests to use are located by the doors near the dune walkover.

With the beach just steps away from the hotel, it is so easy to go out and enjoy the gulf.  Guests who don't want to bring their own beach umbrellas or chairs can rent some from FUNPCB between March and October.

For fitness buffs, the hotel does have a small fitness center with a couple of treadmills, free weights, etc.  But why walk on a treadmill when you have the gorgeous white sand beaches?!

The hotel is an easy ½-mile stroll from the Pier and Pier Park.

While the sunrises are grand at the beach, so are the sunsets.

Check-in/Check-out Times

Check-in time at Hampton Inn & Suites is 4:00 PM. Check-out time is 11:00 AM. (Panama City Beach is in the Central Time Zone.) Guests must be 21 years old to register.

If you wish to cancel, you must do so 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid cancellation penalties.  [Cancellation policies may vary depending on the rate or dates of your reservation.] If you book elsewhere, the cancellation policy may vary.

Nearby Dining

Several restaurants are located within walking distance of the hotel, among them Diego's Burrito Factory which is located across the street from the hotel.  The Hampton Inn is within a ½ mile walk to Sharky's (heading east) and Pier Park to the west which has at least 17 places to get a bite or drink. I love why everyday hotel chains make a super cool hotel! I don't know if I'd spend more time in that pool overlooking the view, or sitting on that awesome piece of beach!
