Rent a Dog-Friendly Home in Cape San Blas

If dog friendly beach vacations are a priority for your family, look no further than Cape San Blas as a destination. It was voted the #1 dog friendly beach in the USA with good reason.

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at Cape Conchs beach house courtesy of Sunset Reflections by Natural Retreats. Cape Conchs sleeps 18 so we invited some friends to come and stay with us...and bring their two dogs.

I'll let Honey and Sadie show you a little of Cape Conchs and the beach at Cape San Blas from a 4-legged perspective, then tell you a little about it from ours.

As far as the humans were concerned, Cape Conchs exceeded our expectations. This is just a snapshot of the luxurious beach house. Click over to see the rest of it!

We were particularly grateful for the $250 beach gear rental credit that comes when you book your stay with Sunset Reflections by Natural Retreats.

Beach gear.

We made our selections before the trip and our gear was waiting for us when we got there! It doesn't get much more convenient.

Sunset Reflections pet friendly beach vacation tips

  • Bring plenty of "doggy bags" to clean up after your pet. There are bag stations located at certain points down the beach, but you're better off having your own handy too.
  • Even if your pup is well behaved off-leash, bring one anyway as a courtesy for other beach goers.
  • Get ready to meet and mingle! If you're looking for dog friendly beach vacations, you're obviously a dog lover and you'll be happy to meet lots of other pooches and their owners during your stay.
  • Visit the groomers before your trip. While Cape Conchs and most other beach rentals allow pets for an additional fee, it's expected that you won't leave an excess mess for housekeeping. A vacuum is provided to take care of any shedding.

Kids and dogs go together like peanut butter and jelly so we were certainly happy to have Sadie and Honey along to share in our fun. It's hard to know who wore whom out more, but let's just say everyone slept well at night.

While in the Florida Panhandle, be sure to check out nearby Panama City, where there are more fun things to do and good places to eat, like g. Foley's and Bayou Joe's. If heading to the Florida theme parks is your jam, check out the DoubleTree Resort in Orlando post and Orlando in October.

Accommodations and other consideration was provided. All opinions are that of the author's. For more great things to love about Cape San Blas, check out Jennifer's post at SweetTMakesThree.com.
