Bayou Joe’s is a quaint restaurant that sits on the Massalina Bayou.  Literally.  The restaurant is on a dock that juts out over the bay.  After passing the pink facade (pictured above), guests walk on a deck over water that leads to the dining area.

It’s a great place to take in the view of boats and sea creatures alike.

The dining area has a very laid-back vibe.  The funky tabletops are set with colorful terry cloth napkins.

Though it may seem like a hole-in-the-wall type of dive, the food is really incredible.  Bayou Joe’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Everything is made to order, so don’t expect to run in and run out.  You’ll want to take some time to savor your meal and enjoy the picturesque surrounding.

Bayou Joe’s Breakfast Menu

I can speak from personal experience and say that you want to dine there at least for breakfast.  The breakfast menu includes items such as:

  • Garbage Omelet – an omelet made with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and cheddar cheese served with toast.
  • Catfish & Eggs – served with two eggs, grits, and toast.
  • Garbage Potatoes – home-fried potatoes with bacon, sausage, egg, veggies, and cheddar cheese served with toast.

Don’t let the names fool you – there’s no garbage about those dishes.  Just delicious comfort food that you’ll enjoy for breakfast & brunch.

  1. I work at this place when it was Ethridge Marina pumping gas and doing dock maintenance back in 1988-1989…. Miss Pat (owner at the time) would make lunch (mostly brauts on hot dog buns with peppers and onions) for her and I and store customers would come in and comment how good it smells so she started cooking extras to sell to the customers.😁.
